Our school is participating in a fun reading project: the Read for the Rockland Boulders' Record Reading Challenge, sponsored by the Rockland Boulders, Scholastic Book Fairs and Active International. This Reading Challenge unites students from around Rockland, and surrounding counties in an attempt to establish a habit of independent reading at home.
The Reading Challenge begins April 16, 2018 and concludes May 4, 2018. The following are the prizes that will be awarded as your child reaches certain milestones:
Your child will be given a special Rockland Boulders bookmark and/or log sheet where he/she will simply list the number of minutes read outside of school each day and that you will sign. Your child’s teacher will inform the students how often they should return the bookmark/log to school with your signature confirming the minutes reported. After the competition, the results will be reported to Scholastic Book Fairs who in turn will work with the Rockland Boulders to distribute the prizes.
All Ticket vouchers will be dated for June 5th, 7th 13th OR 14th at 6:30pm (you choose your game)
*First pitch opportunity at each listed game (choose 1)
** Optional first pitch and game night for schools in Westchester and the Bronx only – June 16th at 6:30pm.
As we did last year, we hope to meet (as a school) at the Rockland Boulders Game on Saturday, June 16th to cheer on our students who will participate in the first pitch.
